Hossa to Boston?

Boston Globe
As the weekend approached, Marian Hossa sounded more and more as if he wouldn't get a deal done with the Thrashers, which should only intensify the offers Atlanta GM Don Waddell receives this week. The Bruins will be among the many to reiterate interest in Hossa, the depth of their offer depending on whether they would be taking him as a rental or could tie him up long term in what would amount to a sign-and-trade with the Thrashers. The latter scenario almost certainly would cost the Bruins assets such as Phil Kessel and Mark Stuart, Boston's top picks in 2006 and 2003. A steep price, for sure, but Hossa's age (29) and career goal count (296 in 687 games) would justify the payment.

Whether or not the Bruins acquire him at the deadline, I guarantee you the bruins go hard after him in the offseason, and I would say there is a good chance he is a Bruin come July.

Keep our assets. Hope he is a rental somewhere. Sign him as a free agent. Best scenario.

Well the scenario depends. Like was mentioned if he is a rental...then forget it. But if we could lock him up for 5 yrs.....bye bye Kessel !!!

I still say Jikinnen is the better fit for the Bs. He is already under contract for at least next year and is a franchise type player. Kessel and Stuart for Jokinnen in a hearbeat.

ok I am not picky, I would take either of those guys in a hearbeat. I watch Kessel and although he shows flashes of brilliance with the puck, there is something not there. Hossa if i am not mistaken plays both powerplay and penalty killing meaning he brings something defensively to the game as well. I am hoping chiarelli does something soon. Although I like Stuart he hasnt done much lately and we have a couple of guys in the minor waiting for a chance. We also have alberts soon to return and bobby allen.
