Bruins 5 - Penguins 1

This was an absolutely outstanding game played by the Bruins tonight. They were making crisp passes that were smart and on the tape. This team really looked inspired proving that Tuesday's beating of the Senators was not a fluke. Every man on the ice was doing his job and much more. The Black and Gold limited shots by either blocking or taking away opportunities by their positional play to make things easier on Tim Thomas. Thomas is at his best when he does not need to face multiple shots each time down the ice. It was excellent defense, superb goaltending, fantastic breakouts, and terrific pressure in the offensive zone when Pittsburgh was attempting breakouts that made the difference tonight. Malkin was a ghost tonight, in fact, he barely even had an impact on the game. This may have shown Hossa where he should sign this summer...

I loved every minute of tonight's game. Of course, how could I forget? Mr. Lucic...

I wish I done this post before I went out to celebrate a friend's birthday but, hey, that happens.

Five in a row boys. Keep it going!

i was watching this game on TSN, the canadian sports network and boy did they praise the bruins, comments like" they are playing like a team" "more inspired" "want the puck more" heck at one point when there was shoving going on, glenn healey said the penguins dont want to mess with the bruins, these boys are one of the toughest bunch in the NHL. Does this mean the B's are getting an identity. I think so. what a great game, oh and what a shame about hossa, standing pat looks really really good at this point.

You don't want to mess with the bruins. If you touch one, the rest of the team is right there. It is great! Even though Chara took the penalty, I'd say it was a good one to take to prove a point. I haven't seen the B's play like a team like this in a long time. Man are they fun to watch right now! Now that they are scoring, they will beat you physically and on the scoreboard, great stuff.

One point about the Chara "penalty." If you watch the replay, Chara goes up to Talbot just to intimidate him. When Chara gets too close Talbot pushes Chara and Chara sticks his arms out to basically defend himself by pushing back. Chara got another penalty for being bigger and stronger than Talbot as Talbot got the worst of that "scrum."

My buddy told me that they showed the bruins third jersey that they might wear next year? Did anyone see this? howd it look?

The third jersey idea was basically the jersey from the 90's however the logo on the front is the BRUINS logo they now have on the shoulder. It was okay. I still prefer the Providence yellow ones, looks more retro. Not only was TSN praising them, I was listening to a pro-Habs radio that said quote "Hey, I think the Bruins didn't get the email that they are not supposed to contenders this year. But they keep on rollin', and Claude Julien should be a clear winner for the Jack Adams" Responded: "And they are winning games without any big names..." I don't know I think we have a few. I think we have guys who want to play hockey, not sign contracts. Get back to the day when players say being a Bruin is better than being anything else. One scary, but true remark was that - if the B's had split the 6 games against the Hab's, we'd be in first in the East with a game in hand on the Devils. To which I yelled - AND WITHOUT PATRICE BERGERON!! This team is playing such good hockey, I think after a few more wins, other teams will fear playing us in the first round! And I love Hossa's comments to tease that he'd love to be Bruin next year! GO BRUINS! Kill the THRASHERS!!

Hockey players (in general) are relatively polite folks and Hossa may have just been acting accordingly. As much of a potential offensive threat he may be I am not sure the Bs will be able to afford him nor if he will be worth what the asking price will be. Would I want him on my team? Sure, just not for 8 mil a year for 5 yrs. Now, add Rolston again (who I believe is a UFA) and a top line d-man, get Bergeron back and this team looks a whole lot better. If Muzz gets traded then that could open some cap space but I seriously do not think that is going tio happen.

Is it just me or is this Bruins team that is playing so awesome lately getting no media attention for the way they've been rolling? It just shows how hard work pays off. Nothing fancy, with no NHL marquee players. Just good, solid hockey that wins games.

we dont get attention cause we dont have cindy crosby and his merry band of mongoloids. Go Bruins! nuff said.
