Bruins Hossa Bubble Popped?

According to Ross McKeon (no relation) on Yahoo Sports there are already two trades set to happen tommorow. One of them involves Hossa and neither of the trades involve Boston.
The Dallas Stars will acquire Tampa Bay Lightning center Brad Richards in a multi-player trade and Atlanta Thrashers right wing Marian Hossa is heading to the Montreal Canadiens before the NHL trade deadline, an executive within the league said Monday night.

The Habs just got a whole lot better my friends. Still looking forward to tomorrow...

Update 6:21 a.m.
Here is a morning read (and another) that describes why Chiarelli backed out of the deal. It looks like we have a talented and smart GM on our hands. A rental without a guarantee would not help the team right now. Excellent job Pete!

Big applause to Chiarelli this morning, after reading he refused to pull the trigger on Hossa - because Hossa would not entertain a contract renewal until July 1. I think he felt the only way Bruins fans would support the loss of a Kessel type player would be in Hossa would be a Bruin for more than a month. Even if Hossa goes to Montreal, he won't re-sign with them come July 1. I am still scratching my head over the Prospal deal. An average D man and a pick for a 30 goald scorer? And we couldn't offer more? I would have easily swapped Stuart and Schaffer for Prospal. Then again, maybe TB needed cash for Dan Boyle.

I have to agree. I am gald we didn't pull the trigger on this deal if we couldn't re-sign him. Kessel has been up and down this year but the kid is still young. You don't want to dump him in his second year only to find out he will blossom a couple of years down the road. I have noticed a change in his play lately, a little(not a lot) more grittier which is a positive. I like the way Julien coaches and I have a feeling he will continuously work on Kessel. This kid has the potential to be a game breaker. To be honest I would hate to lose any of our young prospects. I think Krecji is a keeper. Lets upgrade by giving up a second and third rounder for someone who can score.

the only problem ive had with this team is their inability to carry the puck over the blue line and obviously score once they finally do keep it in the zone. all they ever do is dump and chase. on top of that it makes me sick to watch kessel being the one who constantly tries to carry it over the blue line only to lose control every time. im not a kessel hater but for gods sake get someone who can make the moves to get the puck in the zone on the fly instead on dump and chase. ill be watching the game and kessel will get it and hes skating fast as hell then blam there goes the play in the other direction every time. i could probly count on my hand how many times hes actually gotten into the zone with control. but im glad chia didnt do any trades cause this team just needs to find some way to score with what they got. Go Bruins!!!

Bs should only be trading away second tier prospects or picks (and maybe Schafer). Good non-move by Chierelli.

"[10:26am] It looks like Ottawa, Boston and Detroit are out of the Hossa race. Price tag is too high, according to an Atlanta source."

I agre with the need for a player who can create plays. I think Chia might go after the sub names (Havlat, Nagy, etc) - if the asking price is low, considering thins like injury proned, etc.
