Deadline Rumors Make Some Folks Jumpy

RDS.ca followed up on a report last night indicating the Canadiens had ordered equipment with their team colors for Marian Hossa, however, it was false, in fact the equipment was actually for his brother, Marcel Hossa.

The equipment was a pair of gloves that were delivered to the Bell Center on Tuesday when Marian's brother, Marcel, and the New York Rangers came to town. However, Marcel didn’t suit up that game and is currently playing in the AHL for the Wolf Pack. Apparently he has his gloves made by a Canadian company and he took advantage of the trip to Montreal by having them deliver it to the arena, rather than to the teams affiliate in Hartford.

The colors of the equipment for the Canadiens and the Rangers are identical. It was all a simple mis-understanding.

McKeon's Take: Haha! Now that is just plain funny and more laughable that it happened to Montreal. Seriously, what are the odds? They don't write coincidence like that in Disney movies.
