Tonight, The Devils, From The Armpit

Tonight, the Bruins will face off against Marty Brodeur and the equally low-scoring Devils. This is a pivotal match-up as New Jersey (they're in) is fighting to keep their position in the standings while the Bruins are trying to hang on to a playoff spot. With Washington winning yet again last night, they moved back within one point of the Bruins and Flyers (who also play tonight). With a Bruins win and a Flyers loss the Bruins could jump up into a 5th place tie with the New York Rangers and since the Bruins lead the season series, they would hold the upper hand.

The Bruins need to continue to operate with the garbage goal method. It is the only chance they have at getting into the playoffs. Once the garbage goals go in, sexier goals will follow. Remember, who the hell cares how they win and how the pucks go in? As long as they get two points, I do not care.

There are two teams I do not want to play in the playoffs. Montreal and Washington. If Washington can pass Carolina, the 6th seed is not as attractive any more. The 7th/8th seed scare me because Montreal could end up in either 1st or 2nd. Is it weird that I would rather play Marty Brodeur in the first round? We'll see if I feel the same way this evening...

I know Brodeur is probably one of the best of all time, but was it me or was he throwing it in our faces last night? He makes the one glove stop and shows the Bruins skating by him like "na na na na na na" and then in the SO he is glaring at the players after their shots.

I don't know.. it's one thing to be focused but entirely another to be an arrogant f$ck.

brodeur is a pompous ass and i hate him...hes incredibly overrated because he always has played on a team that plays the trap...hes not any better than roy or any of the other HOF goalies...hes just benefitted from playing on a defense first team...as is evidence of timmys numbers this year...anyway i really think the NHL should do away with the shootouts...theyre not that exciting...im not just saying this cuz we lost but honestly i would rather see someone be given credit for the game winning goal instead or even just play til theres a winner...thats more exciting

It is a wierd day in Bruinland when we are going to cheer for both the Leafs and Habs in one night !!!!

I think OT's are way more exciting than shootouts. Though maybe thats because the B's kind of suck in SO. Play 4v4 for 10 minutes. Someone is bound to score.
Even though we lost, that was one hell of an exciting game. Both teams are already in playoff mode. Let's hope we can lock this up soon so I can stop having anxiety attacks every game.

i thought it was a pretty good game. I think the Bruins looked complacent at that point when New Jersey got the tying goal. Once that happened the Bs picked it up. As for Brodeur being overrated. I don't particularly like the guy but there is no way he is overrated. He is by far one of the best goalies in the league, who whether u like him or not, comes to play every night. Those stops he made on Chara were incredible, even the one on Kessel in the shootout. Cant wait for Ottawa on Friday.
