Stanislav Chistov was not claimed on waivers prior to today's noon deadline, freeing the winger to be assigned to Providence. Chistov is currently on a one-way deal worth $800,000. Chistov's number will not count against the Bruins' cap.
The AHL, however, must approve the Bruins' appeal to have Chistov play for the P-Bruins. The league usually frowns upon players who have competed in Europe past Dec. 15 to appear in the AHL the same year.
