The Bruins finally get a win against the 'Canes and all I have to say is, it's about time. I missed the game so, leave highlights in the comment box to help me get the jist of things. I did see a headline on yahoo saying they blew the lead. Let's hear about it.

Bruins played a pretty good game up until the final minute. It was nice to see Krejci get the game winner in the shoot out. Nice call by the coach. Defensive breakdowns in the last minute. Defenceman chasing guys behind the net and leaving the front open. Wideman didn't look good on both goals. But other than that good game and big win.
Lucic dropped the gloves with Gleason in the last 2 minutes and got his ass handed to him...momentum swung immediately after that fight loss...rookie mistake. don't fight in the final 2 minutes of a game unless you are sure you can win, because the ensuing power play resulted in a goal and it was all over from there
These two goals, in the 3rd period, by Carolina reminded me the numberous collapses under Dave Lewis. I'm glad that they finnaly grad the extra point in SO.
I agree with anon - Carolina is trying to mount something, they run Savard - just take it, you have them in their place, you ahve the game won. No need to fight, lose the fight, give them the momentum and risk injury. And it is so funny how we love that stat that come up beginning of the third that says Bruins are 20-0-3 when leading after 2 - when they are having recent troubles protecting the lead. I hate to say it but they should sit in a room and watch the Habs from last night against the Rangers.
Based on the way they played the first 58 mins I was stunned they let this one get away. I don't fault Lucic for protecting his teammate and Lucic did NOT take an extra penalty so he can not be faulted here. They scored after they pulled Ward and had the extra attacker. Carolina has more talent than the Bs so just the fact they did get the W is a plus AND they are not in the division. Am I nervous that they are getting back to their old tendency of giving away games in the 3rd? A bit maybe, but remember that this is not Lewis coaching here. Julien will keep things under control. If this games is 3-0 going into the 3rd then they walk out of regulation with a "W". Bs need a proven goalscorer in a BIG way. Let's hope Chia can get one.
But you can't add a proven goal scorer without harming your future. The B's will have to give talented prospects and this team is not very deep in that regard. One player won't change the fact that the team won't go deep inthe playoffs if they make it...
latrappe: I agree to a point but one player can make a big enough difference to put a team over the edge that they need to win big games.
Look at the Oilers a few years ago. I absolutely hate them with my whole being, but they did come within 1 period of winning the stanley cup. Once you're in, you never know what can happen.
This is my reply to anyone that thinks the B's don't need a defenceman: "On the first pass you're out of the zone," All-Star forward Corey Perry told NHL.com. "That definitely helps."
After the 2 quick ones they gave up against Carolina, that one pass would be something they could use.
One of the quality of Matt Lashoff is that way he make that " first good pass ". I would give him a chance instead of playing a defensive liability like Hnidy. I doubt that Lashoff could do worst then Hnidy, right now.
