Deep Thought, By: Jack Handy

I have deep thought before I run out the door to the DMB concert at the Tweeter. Last year, Al "Big Al" Jefferson was one of the hottest young commodities that the Celtics possessed. When the Celtics traded Big Al to Minnesota for KG people were up in arms about trading away such a promising prospect. The Celtics won the World Championship because of that trade, even though Jefferson had outstanding numbers on such a poorly framed team.

So, I would have to say that Phil Kessel is last year's Al Jefferson on this off-season Bruins crew. The reason I bring this up is because I have seen Kessel's name rumored in trades to help dump salary for a nice free agent splash. If winning a Stanley Cup (or making a very strong push) means moving Kessel and him still becoming a great player elsewhere, would you do it?

You all better say yes.

I am wearing a black t-shirt and a backward Portland Sea Dogs hat if you are there.

See ya!

i have also heard rumors of kessel AND axelsson. i know im gonna get burnt by someone but im sorry i hate kessel. imo hes not a hard worker and the only time he can score is in a shootout. i have a friend at work who thinks im insane. i love axelsson and would just about die if he left but you gotta do what you gotta do to win a championship. cant wait till tuesday to see what Chiapet gets us.

Kessel, as much of an offensive talent he may prove to be, does not fit the "Bruin" mold. He does not play physical (in fact he gets pushed around quite a bit) and is rather one dimensional. That being said, for the right player I would say YES, package him up and trade him along with Murray (wishful, I know) if it means brining in someone like Hossa (FA) or Gaborik to push us over the top. This team really is not too far off and I am sick and tired of being the ugly stepchild of Boston sports.

wow i cant wait for next week. As for Kessel, in a heartbeat. I think he is very talented but i agree with the others he is typically one dimensional and pretty much predictable. With the stable of forwards we have now, young guys, this is a great opportunity. As much as I love Murray, I would try and ditch his salary and get a ryan malone or someone at a mid level salary range. 8 Mil for Hossa is too much in my mind. Lets not forget Bergy is back next year and that is as good as any trade. Campbell might even be a great option.

So it seems Rolston and Minny are not talking and he is looking for 2 yrs at 4-5 per. It would be nice to offer up Murray for Rolstons rights and I think he would be a great fit back here for 2 yrs. This way they get a potential scorer with only 1 yr left and we get a chance at a great 2 way player.

I think we should trade murray, kessel, axelson and a 1st and 2nd round pick for Zetterberg. I think that would be fantastic. I love that guy... and he would fit great on the team.

I wouldn't pay Ryan Malone 4 or 5 million a season, he's overrated, and he's had 1 decent season.

I wasn't a fan of the Hossa Rumors at all, but the more I heard about him coming to the Bruins, the more the idea has gotten better. He's expensive, yes. But Imagine a guy creative enough to find the open ice where Savvy's magic passes always end up and deadly enough to bury the puck at anytime? That's the kind of scoring The B's needed last year.

I'm hoping they get Wideman locked up soon... I Can see someone throwing an offer sheet out at him. He played a lot of minutes and looked good last season, and can be had for a reasonable price. He's due for a huge raise from what he made last year, and I can totally see a guy like Kevin Lowe throwing more money at him than he should re-sign for.
