Operation Lockdown

Boston Globe, Fluto Shinzawa

During Boston's six-game winning streak, here are the forwards Zdeno Chara and partner Dennis Wideman have been asked to shut down: Ilya Kovalchuk (Atlanta), Evgeni Malkin (Pittsburgh), Jason Spezza (Ottawa), Vincent Lecavalier (Tampa Bay), Olli Jokinen (Florida), and Eric Staal (Carolina).

The results: zero even-strength goals. Kovalchuk scored on a penalty shot, Lecavalier recorded one helper, and Staal registered two assists.

"He's such a fierce competitor," said Shane Hnidy of Chara. "That's the key to it. A guy like him, with his size and ability, who shuts down the other teams' top guys, that gives us a lot more room on the ice. I know how frustrated he was from last year when they didn't make it and how hard he wants to make the playoffs, as does everybody. He takes being the captain of this team seriously."

* The Bruins didn't practice today. They will travel to Washington this afternoon and skate at the Verizon Center at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow.

why do u copy and paste things directly from boston.com? most people check who check here check there first. its pointless one to steal entries from fluto and 2 be repetitive.

the spokedb... its called plagiarism

First, I fail to see how it is plagiarism seeing as how I sited where it came from and who wrote it at the very top. Second, I found the post that Fluto wrote interesting and I wanted to share it with people who come here. Unfortunately, if you do not like the cite please don't come.

The reason I choose to put some of these articles on here is bc I do not have access to the Bruins locker room for quotes and other such information. I truly thought people would enjoy a post like this but, clearly I was incorrect in drafting that assumption.

Brumors hasn't posted since thurs. This is the only decent info i can get on the B's before I hear it on the pregame on NESN. Honestly, true B's fans don't give a shit where news comes from, so to everyone who has to insult the creator of a blog of which you take so much interest in, well hell, thats pretty messed up. Some people only see the bad in things. McKeon, good looks on everything, and thanks for the hard work keepin up to date. Don't let these kids ruin a good thing for the rest of us.

huge week for the B's coming up. 5 games in 7 days. I'm a little scared. A little excited. It'll give a good picture of where they stand, that's for sure.

let me add my two cents worth. I love the site so dont change a damn thing. that is probably a closet hab fan who is feeling a little nervous. Yes this next stretch it going to be tough. Interesting to see how the B's fare. HJow about Krecji, kid is putting it together. I love the look of this team and the future looks bright for a change.
