Minor Trade

The Boston Bruins cut a deal with the Colombus Blue Jackets today receiving Rick Nash and sending defenseman Jonathan Sigalet to Ohio. Ok, I'm kidding about Nash but, a guy can dream can't he? The Bruins have acquired forward Matt Marquardt. I know absolutely nothing about the kid besides him being 6'2", 220 lbs and that he plays in the Q.

From BosnBruins.com:

"Marquardt, who will turn 21 on July 19, 2008, registered 43 goals and 26 assists in 68 games during the 2007-2008 season which he split between Baie-Comeau Drakkar and the Moncton Wildcats, both of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). After recording 20-13-33 totals in 35 games for Moncton, he was traded to Baie-Comeau on December 22, 2007 where he scored 23 goals and added 13 helpers in 33 games. "

wow.. 6'3" 222 pounds. This is one big rugged winger. Let's hope his talent continues on par with the pro level.

Looks like the Bs signed him to an entry level contract. Nice score by Chia.
