Aloha

This post will remain up as the most recent post for just over a week because today (Sat. June 7) I will be attending a friend's wedding and from Sunday June 8 through Monday June 16 I will be in Hawaii. I hope all 19 of you can survive a week without me. I will be sure to post a picture of me burnt like a lobster upon my return.

Go B's!

enjoy your break! this is going to be a huge off season for the B's, i can feel it. it's nice to be looking forward to a season instead of hopelessly praying for the best

Marian Hossa July 1st?

No Hossa for the Bruins. My prediction is he ends up in Chicago.

OK. So start slinging the arrows any time, but if you ask me, IF Toronto does in fact buy out Darcy Tucker, he would be an awfully good fit here for the Bs. He is a player you love to hate but can also score.

Another big score could be Malone from Pitt (providing they do not resign him).

I think Hossa would be out of reach for the Bs, at least with their current salary structure.

yeah i would take malone or tucker honestly...we need someone to take over for muzz because they need to buy him out and we need a power forward to get in front of the net and just annoy the goalie and defense...and hossa at over 7mil a year just isnt worth it for a guy thats on the wrong side of 30

on a side note...jacobs made a donation to the university of buffalo...10 million in honor of his late brother...which i can respect and all...glad to see his 8 dollar beers and 7 dollar hot dogs are going towards that instead of the team he owns...

and I tend to agree - as much as I would love to see Hossa in a B's jersey, right now but I am not sure we should put all of our eggs in one big hossa basket. I see the team only improving over last season. One proven player on D and a top six forward like Tucker or even a trade for a guy like Mike Camalleri might be a nice move.

Speaking of trades, I read somewhere of a Martin Havlat for Phil Kessel deal? Not a good idea for the B's, but it's floating out there?

You guys got to be kidding - Tucker - Where is the black and gold blood - it would be like bringing Ulf Samuelsson or any of the habs over to play for the bruins - I am a dihard 40 year fan of the bruin if they bring over Tucker I will never watch another game.

People said the same thing about Chris Nilan. Like I said, players you love to hate. I disliked Chara before he was a Bruin, and now? Well I would rather have him on my team than play against him.

Anonymous said...

anonymous go and not watch the bruins...if they bring someone in that would get under other peoples skin let them thats not a legit reason to stop watching the team...also the havlat for kessel deal was on the table at the trade deadline that deal is dead...wont happen

I have no problem with an agitator on a team, a team should have a player like that. I live just outside of Toronto and have the joy of hearing nothing but leaf crying on radio and the papers every day. Tucker is the biggest whiner in the league. He takes a ton of stupid penalties. Lucic will fill that role quite nicely at least he can back it up by taking on any another players - Tucker starts it but turtles when it is time to back it up. You are correct when you mention guys like Chara and Nilan I hated them also on other teams but they did have my respect by having the balls to follow through when the yapping was over. Tucker makes me puke.

Tucker cries and whines continually. I would hate to see him in a Bruins jersey. I would take Avery or Jarkko Ruutu over Tucker, and I hate both of them too.

Anonymous said...

Yes, I would also take Avery as I think his point production is also better, although his on/off ice antics is much more "animated" than Tuckers. The bottom line is, a hard nosed agitator that can score.

By the looks of it, Hossa might stay with the Penguins. He was offered 50 million and has a timeline to accept. By that offer and some other rumors I have heard about Mtl and a couple of other teams the Bruins probably won't get him.

I hope the Bruins get at least some scoring up front and good puck moving Dman. Commodore from the Sens looks like he is going to be available. I know he isn't a puck moving D, but he is a good gritty D.

yeah true i forgot tucker was such a baby...and as for commodore...no chance...we dont need another veteran slow D back there...we have ward and he fits the bill perfectly...we need a puck mover for the second pairing maybe JML or something who knows...and stealing malone would be a gift because if that rumor about hossa is true theyre not going to be able to re sign malone too

I dont have a problem with a player that everyone hates. They type of player PJ Stock was before he came to Boston, anyone who watches minor league hockey saw PJ jaw all game long and talk so much trash then not drop the gloves, sometimes that will get the other team so focused on how much they hate the player or just draw penalty minutes. I have no problem with grabbing a guy who is going to play that role...as long as it isn't Tucker.

Hope you arrive back on the East Coast not too burnt. I'm a happy gal with the announcement that Portland is now in affiliation with Buffalo... that means actually being able to watch players first hand develop within the Buffalo system.

Thanks for all to restore my faith with the black and gold. - Again P.J was another agitator who had no problem dropping the gloves when required. Many times he took on guys much bigger and tougher than he was and faired well. I have watched many games where Tucker was only tough against players who never dropped the gloves. If you watch the elite teams in the NHL they do not have to resort to that style of play - they intimidate by winning. Having a looser like Tucker is only required when you are out classed by the oposition talent and hope you force them to not play thier game. Bottom line, the winning team has the most goals at the end of the game not the most fights.

the bruins have some guys coming up that might fit that role. Take Brad Marchand for one. I am not a big Tucker fan and would rather see the money go to a proven scorer. malone would be a nice fit. Liles from Colorado on defence would be nice as well. Lets not sell the farm this team in going to be good next year. Go Bruins.
